Die Ou Pastorie's very own blog is here

Time has caught up, even here at Die Ou Pastorie, where for almost two centuries-time stood still. This all changed with the take over of the property by Shybon and myself in October 2007. Since then, a lot of changes have come to pass and we are of the opinion-for the better!
So now there is even a blog on Die Ou Pastorie and on XO Modern Bistro & Wine Bar! About time, some of you would say. But as with a lot of things, good things happen over time and one shouldn't hurry to rush into things. Or, as our chef Colin likes to say whenever he has to prepare for a banqueting function: "It's like: Hurry up and wait!".

While I am on the subject: Colin Oldham is our new head chef since November 2008; he took over from Sharon Murphy who left the company to continue her career in training young chefs.

Colin is from Scottish decent, but grew up in South Africa. His recent positions as Head Chef were at Leopard's Kloof Restaurant & Conference Center (which he opened) and before that Head Chef Conferencing at Spier Estate, Stellenbosch. Although the 'A la Carte' restaurant is fairly new to him, he brings a wealth of experience to the kitchen!

Recently, Chef Colin and I have changed our menu concept: instead of changing our menu per season, with daily changing specials, we have opted for a compact, yet diverse menu which changes three (!) times per week. So far, this has been received very well by our regulars and we would love to hear what you think of this new concept!

When can we welcome you?
